Babies and Boys

I keep getting so lucky with the weather, windows of sunshine in between rain.

I met the Hayduks through the Arts on the Ave, an initiative that is part of revitalising 118th Avenue. They've donated their time and energy to this great project.

This great family was a lot of fun to photograph. Beautiful children (and mama and papa too).

Wrangling Boys

This mama and papa are amazing. Four year old twins, and a two year old. All boys. You've got to be fast and strong for that.

All the boys were wonderful during our photoshoot. They looked at the camera (most of the time) and stopped wiggling long enough for me to get a few photos.

The light was incredible in this family's back yard paradise.

My wee one

As you can see, my wee one is in fine form. In these pictures, he's just getting over a 2 week-long cold, and is in the process of popping three molars. And he's still handsome and (mostly) happy.

Chris and Haeshika, III

Chris and Haeshika had their third (and maybe final, maybe not) celebration on September 15th. First was the Catholic ceremony in Edmonton, then a Hindu ceremony in Fiji, and finally a party back in Edmonton.

I was lucky enough to attend the first and third installments, and what a party.

Thanks for having me there. You two are amazing.

Mag and Douglas

Mag and Douglas had a magical wedding day. It was pouring rain as the guests pulled up to their home, the sun came out for their ceremony and for a few minutes afterwards, and then it started raining again.

This wedding was beautiful and touching; the love and magic these two people brought together filled their home and graced their family and friends.

And, don't you just love how Douglas looks at Mag? That's something special.

Trash the Dress

Trash the Dress is a recent trend in wedding photography that allows photographers and brides to capture images that go beyond the ordinary.

Chris Uglanica set up a trash the dress session with Renee and Rob, a couple who's wedding he recently photographed. He invited Denise Neufeld and I to come and shoot with him.
Renee was amazing. The weather was cold, windy and without a word of complaint, Renee stood and led down in the pools at the Legislature in Edmonton, for nearly two hours. In between pools, Rob wrapped Renee in his arms to keep her warm.
This photoshoot was a lot of fun.

And here's a shot of Chris getting wet along with Rob and Renee.

Playing with a new style

I was playing around in Photoshop, which is highly addictive and I don't recommend it unless you have a little time to spare, and I processed a few images, completely overblowing the highlights to focus on the eyes.

These images are from a family shoot and a recent trash the dress session.
