13 Days Old

I had the pleasure of photographing Nicola, a brand-new baby girl for Reshawn and Neal. Reshawn was beautiful in pregnancy and looks equally amazing now.

It is so lovely to watch parents with their new babies. Reshawn and Neal are obviously smitten with their Christmas present, and who wouldn't be?

Nicola has the coolest nursery. I love it.

Avelina Grace

How beautiful is her name?!

Richard and Trish welcomed me into their home to photograph the newest edition to their family.

I know I said I love 7 month olds in my last post, but newborns - they are so sweet. They are so tiny and precious. I think I just adore children in general, and I have the greatest job ever.

This is my second favourite photo (my favourite is at the bottom of this post).

Big sister Isadora.

I think Avelina has a little sass to spare. You could say sticking out her tongue is reflex, but she looks like she knows what she's doing.

These sweet moments can keep parents going for years.

And my favourite photo. Newborns look like they know things the rest of us have forgotten.

Ms. Makenna

I love babies this age. They are so squishable. Those fat little cheeks look like apples.

Makenna is a delightful baby. Happy, active, trying so hard to crawl. Many of the photos I took have perfectly in-focus faces with blurred out hands, because she does the greatest happy-flappy dance.

This is Makenna's family.

She looks pretty happy about them.

A sweet moment with Dad.

And a very "dad" moment with Dad.

This is Savannah. Is she not lovely?

Who can resist a baby with a stuffed lion on her head?
Merry Christmas Makenna, Savannah and Travis.

Gwen and Chad

This was such a beautiful ceremony and I am so glad Gwen and Chad allowed me to be part of their day.

Gwen and her sisters were so much fun. When they first saw Gwen in her dress they giggled and cried and told her how beautiful she looked. I would have to agree.

The ceremony and reception were at the Muttart Conservatory.

I was warned that Gwen's mom is a little camera shy. But she seemed to get used to me and even asked me to take this photo of her and Chad.

This photo is one of the reasons I love small weddings. You can fit everyone in one picture.
I was sure that Gwen had asked me to get a group shot of everyone, but after I took this, she asked me if Chad had requested this photo. Turned out nobody had, but we were all glad to get it!

I love this photo. Gwen and Chad have been together for a long time before this day - and its clear how much they love each other and how strong their commitment is.

Congratulations you two.

Wedding Planner Extraordinaire

Caroline Andruchuk from 1 Perfect Event Planning co-ordinated Gwen and Chad's wedding. The day was beautiful, went as smoothly as any wedding I've attended and was much appreciated by all the wedding vendors.

Thanks Caroline.

Baby Cards, oh my

At this great photography forum I frequent, Neil Creative is selling fabulous baby announcement templates (she also does other great card templates.)

I bought these and I love them. Can't wait to use them.

The colours are can be customised, and would be good for holiday or birthday cards too.

Lukas is six months old!

I had the privilege of photographing Lukas when he was 8 weeks old. Nearly half a year has passed, and here he is again. He is still as lovely as ever, and his smile is exactly the same.

Is he not adorable?

Christmas photos

I took photos of these two sweet-peas back in the summer. Lincoln was only two months old at the time, and while he was adorable, he didn't do much. Now he's up and thinking hard about moving and totally curious about the world. Its so cool to see the changes.

Reegin is as full of fire as ever, and it was neat to take her pictures with this great red backdrop (aka the wall in the family room.) Good paint choice Amanda!
